Are you interested in becoming a trained official? Do you want to upgrade your official level? The Level 101 and 201 clinics are offered in an online format and available online for FREE. Both courses must be completed by the end of Level 2.
Officials 101 is for people who want to learn about track and field and the different disciplines of this sport. At the end of this course you will have the basic knowledge to be able to perform the work of a beginner official.
The objective of Officials 201 is to prepare you to become an active member of a team of officials with certain responsibilities to apply competition rules under the supervision of an experienced official. Officials 201 is for people who have accumulated basic experience in the sport. At the end of the course, you will obtain more advanced knowledge in order to be able to perform the function of an official.
Pearlgate strongly encourages all officials to register with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) with the Coaching Association of Canada and complete "Safe Sport - Direct Athlete Contact" and "Understanding the Rules of Two" training. Additionally, all Pearlgate officials are strongly encouraged to complete a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Contact Pearlgate for a volunteer letter to waive the Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check fee. Please forward your Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check application receipt to Pearlgate once you've submitted your application.
Pearlgate will pay for any Official's Associate's NLAA Membership if they have a family member part of the Pearlgate Community.
