Pearlgate is proud to work with two Learning Facilitators who can offer Sport or Club Coach Courses. Please contact us if you would like to take a course, or inquire about having a course offered locally in your region.
Pearlgate will pay for any Coach's NLAA Membership if they are part of the Pearlgate Community.
Pearlgate is proud to have all coaches registered with the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) with the Coaching Association of Canada. All Pearlgate coaches are required to complete "Safe Sport - Direct Athlete Contact" and "Understanding the Rules of Two" training. Additionally, all Pearlgate coaches must have a Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Contact Pearlgate for a volunteer letter to waive the Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check fee. Please forward your Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check application receipt to Pearlgate once you've submitted your application.
All coaches must re-apply for their coaching position ahead of each 3-month season. This allows Pearlgate to appropriate distribute Assistant Coaches according to registration volume. Additionally, it allows Pearlgate to advertise which programs will be available for the upcoming season. Performance-Level Programs will not be offered if there are no available coaches or interested athletes. Finally, this allows Pearlgate to ensure the appropriate pairing of the best coach with each program.
Lead Coaches
Pearlgate offers one Lead Coach position for Developmental and Performance-Level Program, including a Para Lead Coach, for a total of 10 Lead Coach Positions.
Assistant Coaches
Pearlgate offers at least one Assistant Coach position for each Developmental Program. Additional Assistant Coach positions for Developmental and Performance-Level Programs will be made available depending on registration numbers and available coaches. There will be at least 3 Assistant Coach positions each season.
Members of the Pearlgate community who want to get involved with coaching and have no prior experience are invited to complete the Pearlgate Coaching Requirements and apply to be an Assistant Coach with the Run - Jump - Throw Program.
The Pearlgate Coaching Development Pathway mirrors the Pearlgate Athlete Development Pathway, with coaches having the opportunity to grow into a subsequent developmental or performance level group as they gain more experience and coaching education through the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) with the Coaching Association of Canada.
